One Day Event
DEFYING TABOOS
Los
Angeles artist and sculptor UuDam said he wants to defy taboos in his own
culture against speaking openly about sex with his exhibition titled, "Asian
...: A Swapmeet Show", in Westminster. The one-day exhibit will explore
the use of derogatory terms in art, illustrating the connection between the
male genitalia and power. UuDam, who immigrated to the United States from
Vietnam in 1994, says he uses fantasy and racial supremacy a metaphors in
his larger-than-life sculptures, photography and multimedia installation.
The exhibit will be on display from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 14879 Chestnut St.,
Westminster.
